The AdaptiveWeb System is an innovative Intelligent Adaptation and Personalization Web-based System that is based on Comprehensive User Profiling. What makes the system unique is the core element employed, namely, the User Perceptual Preference Characteristics, that is, all the critical factors that influence the visual, mental and emotional processes able to manipulate the new information received and building upon prior knowledge that is different for each user or user group. These characteristics determine the visual attention, cognitive and emotional processing taking place throughout the whole process of accepting an object of perception (stimulus) until the comprehensive response to it.
It was impossible during our entire effort not to consider visual attention, as it plays a key role in each persons cognitive style. Considering the above, we created an eyetracking lab to analyze the way in which a user comprehends optical data by conducting experiments. to classify my results based on a generalized model in order to prove the models validity. This classification had the intent of helping these types of systems to be more specialized. Towards that end we create a component that could be used to achieve the previous goal either as an add-on component for Adaptiveweb or as a standalone tool for a wider audience. This Web-site aims to demostrate our progress and anything new extracted by our eyetracker lab.
